• Understand the role and responsibilities of a Teaching Assistant and the ability to take on that position.
• Have a solid understanding of the rate of development from birth to 19 years.
• Learn how the development of children and young individuals are impacted by personal and external factors.
• Learn to identify different behaviours of children and young individuals, and how to tackle them.
• Understand why certain children and young individuals don’t follow the expected pattern of development.
• Understand speech and communication delays and why they should be identified early.
• Learn why certain children and young individuals are affected by transitions.
• Identify children with special needs and learn how to work with them.

The course will be directly delivered to you, and you have 12 months access to the online learning platform from the date you joined the course.  The course is self-paced and you can complete it in stages, revisiting the lectures at any time.

• The course will develop the competence and knowledge of learning support staff like teaching assistants, learning support assistants and childcare workers. They can contribute to learning activities while working alongside a classroom teacher.

• Learners must be over the age of 19 and have a basic understanding of Maths, English and ICT.
• A recognised qualification at Level 2 or above in any discipline.

This online course is assignment-based with learners being assessed upon the submission of a series of assignments. Once you successfully submit the assignments, students will gain a professional qualification. The assignments must be submitted to the instructor through the online learning portal. The assignments will be reviewed and evaluated, with feedback provided to the student on how well they have fared.

Please Note: Additionally, a total of £69 is charged for the assessment and certificate, and you need to pay that when submitting your assessments only (It is not required to pay initially upon registering). This payment can be made in 02 installments.

Those who successfully complete the course will be issued the Child and Young Individual Development at QLS Level 3 Certificate in Teaching Assistant by the Quality Licence Scheme.
